Behind It All

I struggle a lot with the issue of giving back, not in the question of whether I should, but more how and where. I live in a good area of Indianapolis and don’t often travel to the parts of this state or country that are indeed suffering. I often forget how screwed up we are here in America, but no one can deny the rest of the world is also in pain.

I travel to become more aware, and that awareness will grasp all forms of knowing: political, emotional, intellectual, physical, yadda yadda yadda. While abroad I often observe things that rattle my bones, but on occasion, I have moments where I flashback to America and remember the ways I can do good in my own ‘hood.

As a girl in her early twenties with freedom to roam, I’ve decided to commit this time to exploration of other countries while I can. With an accumulation of experiences under my fashionable belt, I hope to come back to my homeland with ideas galore and a knowledge of the world that can aid others through education and a better relativity meter of present-day human suffering.

This page is dedicated to causes I’ve participated in and deem important around the world…as well as inspiration for a healthy travel philosophy. And, of course, never forget the muse that is Desmond Tutu.
