Fighting for Futures…
is helping us develop our creative approaches to teaching English and hygiene as well as helping us purchase resources for The Nakavika Project. Using their field-tested teaching techniques and mentorship, we’re better prepared to face the challenge of teaching non-English speakers new or difficult-to-grasp concepts. And thanks to their generosity and support, The Nakavika Project has a stronger backbone with which to stand.
Trip on a Deal…
is helping the project greatly by supplying an HD camcorder, tripod and wireless mic, enabling Garrett and myself to create even more amazing documentation of the experience. Trip on a Deal is a popular weekly webcast on travel tips and deals created by the award-winning And Now Productions team. The support from these two producers has been unwavering and incredibly appreciated.
Alkr Gadget Accessories…
is helping us by supplying a laptop case to guard from the intense Fijian highland humidity during monsoon season, as well as the rough rides on the village truck to and from town. The laptop will be used to document The Nakavika Project and multiply our options for creative approaches to learning. Alkr is based in Germany and creates gadget accessories that suit a traveler’s needs while also offering some whimsy and creativity, instead of using something ordered from Dullsville. Incredible customer outreach and service brought us together, and we greatly appreciate their sponsorship for The Nakavika Project.
Garrett’s Mother at Contemporary Dental Arts…
is helping The Nakavika Project by donating toothbrushes and toothpaste out of sheer generosity and belief in the project. With these resources, we will be able to improve the school’s relaxed dental regimen by upgrading their old toothbrushes, impressing the importance of gum and teeth health, and starting the children (and households) on a path toward keeping good dental hygiene a healthy, lifelong habit. She is also educating Garrett on oral health matters that pertain to situations akin to Nakavika, where toothpaste is seldom used.
webchic media…
is who you and I have to thank for the finesse of this dazzling site. Jenn Vargas has been my ultimate web guru since August and has solved every issue I’ve since faced. Jenn decided to donate the profits from her most recent help with Nomadderwhere after seeing how far we stretched $31 earlier this month. Her donation will help us purchase even more school supplies on site. Twelve years of web experience and an amicable, helpful attitude – that’s what you get to look forward to when working with Jenn.

Are We Frugal? What do you think? We understand that most, if not all, donors will be friends and/or family out of trust or interest. But if you feel compelled to donate and do not know us personally, we will make sure you feel absolutely certain your money goes to the cause and not just for Lindsay and Garrett’s Beer and Beach Fund. We don’t pull that crap.
Also, if you’d like to mail items to Fiji, e-mail lindsay@nomadderwhere.com for the mailing address of our on-site coordinator, Abel.
Knowledge Sponsors: We need your minds to help us concoct classes for the children, the youth and the adults. Thus far we have benefitted greatly from the minds of many in order to provide accurate information for the village. Thanks to the following knowledge sponsors:
Ian Clark: Budgeting and Money Management
Allison Clark: Pre-Natal Care and Breastfeeding
Kim Clark: NPO advice
Kathie Russell: dental hygiene
Cathleen Angelo: creative teaching methods for the classroom
Katie VanVoorhis: classroom management and tips on positive reinforcement
Some of the topics for which we need knowledge sponsors are the following: cardio health for adults, kids nutrition, diabetes, English educational activities, NPO info, alcohol abuse help, the medical effects of kava, Fijian medicine vs. Western medicine, and many others. If you’d like to be a knowledge sponsor, e-mail lindsay@nomadderwhere.com.
